OVERVIEW
The Museum of Vancouver organized a design show with projects that were designed to inspire a happier community. Our team constructed a space to connect strangers through a varity of games and workshops. PARTICIPANTS WOULD RESPOND TO QUESTIONS DISPLAYED ON THE UMBRELLA ABOVE, ORDER FROM THE HUG MENU AND CHOOSE SECRET MISSIONS TO CONNECT WITH STRANGERS OUTSIDE OF THE BOAT. Our team won best project for the "Happy City Machine" Exhibit.
This project was created by Melody Copeman, Erim Kocatepe, and Sheryl Yang in colaboration with the West Coast Hug Emporium.
MELODY COPEMAN graduated with a BFA from Emily Carr University of Art + Design with a focus on Interactive + Social Media arts. For the last 6 years Melody has been practising UI both as a game developer and freelance web designer.
In their free time Melody volunteers with the eatART foundation (Energy Awareness Through art) – a collective of artists and engineers that focus on creating large scale kinetic art projects that run on renewable energy.
Engaging with art, design and emerging technologies is a passion for Melody and they are always striving for new ways to improve their practice.
